It gushes and babbles, scents and blossoms – spring is awakening in Vinschgau. The mountains shed their white mantle, while the valleys burst into fresh colors. In the Stelvio National Park, nature reveals its full splendor: crystal-clear streams, warming sunrays, and blooming meadows invite you to explore.
The days grow longer, hiking trails become accessible again, and the trails call for adventurers. The villages come to life – music fills the squares, and historic walls shine under the spring sun. Apple trees are in full bloom, eagerly awaiting their buzzing visitors.

Spring Hike – Herb Foraging in the National Park

Wander, search, taste, and marvel: Join us for a refreshing spring hike! Together, we will forage and identify selected (wild) herbs in the national park. Our herb expert will share fascinating insights into the world of wild herbs.
We will prepare a delicious herbal spread and enjoy it with traditional Vinschger Paarlbrot. Discover the healing power of herbs and experience the tranquility of the forest on this unique nature adventure.
Dates: Every Monday from March 10 – May 26, 2025
Duration: Approx. 5 hours
Meeting point: 9 AM (exact location provided upon registration)

Free for guests staying in partner accommodations of the Prad Tourism Association, including a traditional quark "Holbmittog" with freshly foraged herbs.

The Bearded Vulture Learns to Fly in Trafoi – Wildlife Observation

At selected locations within the National Park, majestic bearded vultures breed. If successful breeding takes place again this year, you will have the opportunity to observe a young bird from a respectful distance during a guided hike with the park's partner guides. Spring E-Bike Tour on the Vinschger Sonnenberg

Starting April 1, 2025 – While winter sports enthusiasts are still enjoying the ski areas in the Ortler region and at the Schnalstal Glacier, the MTB season has already begun on the sun-drenched slopes of the Vinschger Sonnenberg. MTB guide Eugen will lead guests on this easy E-bike spring tour, covering the sunny hillsides between Prad am Stilfserjoch and Kastelbell.
Useful Information / What to Bring:
Please bring weather-appropriate sports clothing and equipment for the tour. Helmets are mandatory. It is recommended to wear knee, elbow, and back protectors, and to bring repair tools & a pump.
For all tours, please remember to bring drinks, snacks, change of clothes, and rain gear.
Professional tour guide, Eugen, will accompany you throughout the tour.

200 Years of the Stilfserjoch Pass – Prad Celebrates History!

To celebrate the 200th anniversary of the legendary Stilfserjoch Pass, Prad am Stilfserjoch invites you to a grand historical parade. Starting at 11 AM, the parade will travel from Zinggweg to Kreuzweg, accompanied by various local associations and impressive representations from past times: "Korrner", Swabian children, mountaineers, historical carriages, and more.
At the celebration grounds in Kreuzweg, local Prad associations will provide food and drinks, while fascinating exhibitions offer insights into the history of the famous mountain pass. Celebrate this special anniversary with us!
