Look forward to wonderful biking experiences!
Thanks to the dry climate, the biking season in the Venosta valley is possible from April to November.
The route is mostly flat or downhill. You can enjoy the ride on a mountain bike or an e-bike. The Resia lake and Haider See lake can be easily circumnavigated and, especially in spring, the 80 km long road cycle path along the ancient Roman road Via Claudia Augusta through the Venosta Valley to Merano impresses both the young and the young at heart!
Starting with direct access, the route continues flat over the valley level, the gateway to the Stelvio National Parc, through the marble village of Lasa, past apple orchards, romantic villages, always gently down the valley to Merano. Or you can cycle along the cycle path in the direction of Lake Reschen.
There are always opportunities to stop for refreshments along the cycle path, be it at a fish pond, a snack station and nice inns.
The return journey from Merano is possible by train. You can get a free train ticket at our reception. Of course, you can also interrupt your bike ride earlier and take the return journey at any station. You will need to buy a ticket to take your bike with you. In the summer months it is not allowed to take the bike on the train. Then a bike shuttle service is available at the station.
There are also beautiful bike tours around Prato allo Stelvio, for example to the fish pond, to the biotope in Schluderns, to Glurns, to Tschengls. You can use the www.komoot.de/guide
From May on we rent e-mountain bikes for a fee.
There is also a bike rental service at Spondinig station (2km from Prato): the rental bikes can be returned at various stations along the way. You can then take a stroll through the spa town of Merano.
